In Season 10.1, we successfully delivered a brand-new arena map!
My main responsibilities on this map were:
• Sculpt, texture, and figure out all the necessary blending materials on the terrain
• Gift shop - Modular Modeling, Texturing, and set dressing around the area
• Center platform - Modeling, texturing, and set dressing around the area
• Metal slopes - Modeling, texturing, and set dressing around the area
• Fake Light projections on surfaces around the arena (R&D)
• Overall optimization / performance pass
Getting the overall appearance of sand and snow to look right was very challenging! We have this super awesome sky box, but it casts everything with a green light. It is really tricky to make the colors just right and make everything work well together. I am happy to say that we did it!!! The map turns out perfectly! Big shout out to our lighting team and Morgan Wang to make this possible! 😊
